Sports and outdoor activities

The versatile nature of Tampere is ideal for spending time outdoors. You can go on excursions that you organise yourself or have everything done for you as part of a tailored package. Tampere is also close to the two magnificent national parks in the region, Seitseminen and Helvetinjärvi.

Popular winter sports include cross-country and downhill skiing, skating, ice fishing, ice swimming, snow shoeing and walking on frozen lakes. Tour skating track on Lake Näsijärvi is one of wintry Tampere's most popular attractions.

Summer activities include boat cruises, rowing, kayaking, sailing, hiking, Nordic walking, nature tours and golf. Somewhat later, you can pick wild berries and mushrooms, and enjoy long treks during "ruska", the best time of the year, when forests are glowing with autumn tints.

Fishing is good throughout the year.

At a resting point, you will enjoy coffee, sandwiches and grilled sausages at a camp fire, surrounded by the magnificent landscape of the ancient forest. The hike back to the starting point follows a different route. After the hike, the guide takes you back to your hotel, duration of the transfers 1,5 hours/one way. Total duration of the tour: 7 hours.
Price: 99 e/person in a group of 8 persons.
