Tampere for children

Tampere offers a great variety activities, adventures and entertainment for children as well as adults.

The most popular family destination is Särkänniemi Adventure Park. Child-friendly museums include, for example, the Moominvalley, the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame at Vapriikki Museum Centre, the Spy Museum, and two superb automobile museums in neighbouring Kangasala, some 30 km east of the centre.

Water lovers can enjoy swimming at Pyynikki beach or in a tropical spa. A boat ride for a summer picnic on Viikinsaari island takes 25 minutes or, if you wish, you can enjoy a longer cruise on Lake Pyhäjärvi or Lake Näsijärvi.

For children's theatre, please see the Theatre section, and for festivals and events for children, check out the Calendar of Events.
