Museums and exhibitions

Tampere hosts a wide variety of museums and galleries, among them a few unique ones, such as the Lenin Museum, Spy Museum, Ice Hockey Museum and Moominvalley Museum.

The visual arts are on display in many galleries and exhibition rooms. It couldn't be easier to drop in and discover where Finnish painting, sculpture and graphic art are heading. Sara Hildén Art Museum is a must for friends of modern and contemporary art.

For those interested in local history, Vapriikki Museum Centre is highly recommended. The basic exhibition will take you through times from the Ice Age until the present day. Besides, there are always several changing exhibitions at Vapriikki, themes of which vary from archaeology to technology.
