Theatres

Tampere is the Theatre Capital of Finland with a great variety of theatre performances available throughout the year. These include musicals, comedies, tragedies and dramas, as well as classics and modern plays.

Plays are performed in Finnish, but many of them, and musicals in particular, are certain to break down the language barrier.

The climax of the summer season, the annual Tampere International Theatre Festival, takes place between the 3-9 August, 2009, when Tampere will celebrate the 41st anniversary of the internationally recognised festival.
